Here is the complete set from one of the prolific food issues of the 1970s, the 1979 Hostess Baseball cards in three-card panels pretty carefully cut from the bottom of boxes of the various bakery delicacies offered over the years. The roughly 7 ¼-by-3 ¼-inch panels boast a fairly consistent cut, in most cases about 1/8th of an inch outside the famous dotted lines that could sometimes prove so troublesome for younger collectors. The offered group has relatively clean, white backs – here are the condition anomalies: No. 4 – Very Good, No. 15 – cut encroaches the dotted line, Nos. 16-18 – cut is precisely on the line, Nos. 34-36 – cut is precisely on the line, No. 56 – Very Good and Nos. 112-114 – cut encroaches all three cards.
