Hailing from that mythical candy store in New York which Topps would use to test products, this is a 1989 Topps Doubleheaders Mets/Yankees test issue box complete with 24 packs. This test issue is rarely seen and thought to have one of the lowest production rates during any era. The set itself is comprised of 13 Mets and 11 Yankees, although it is unknown if opening a box yields a complete set. If you open the packs, you will be opening a New York baseball time capsule with all of the stars of the era including; Gooden, Strawberry, Mattingly, Henderson, and more. Ask yourself this question, “when was the last time you saw a complete box?” Then ask yourself, “when might you see another one again?” It arrives wrapped and authenticated by Steve Hart of BBCE.
