Here’s one of the unique peripheral issues from the beginning of the modern baseball card era in 1952, the quaint 2-by-3-inch unnumbered Berk Ross cards, found here in a very wide condition range pretty evenly distributed between Near-Mint, Ex-Mt, Excellent, Very Good and Fair/Poor. The key Mickey Mantle card is in a PSA 1.5 holder; in an issue constituted by fully 1/3 of the total array being Hall of Famers, the sole missing card is Willie Mays. The overall grading comes out to 17 percent Near-Mint, 17 percent Ex-Mt, 27 percent Excellent, 21 percent Very Good and 17 percent below. The breakdown of keys: Ashburn – Fair, Bauer – Near-Mint, Berra – Nr-Mt, Campanella – Ex-Mt, DiMaggio – Excellent, Doby – Fair, Feller – Ex-Mt, Hodges – Good, Irvin – Ex-Mt m/c, Kiner – VG, Lemon – Good, Martin – Nr-Mt, Minoso – VG (mk), Mize – Ex-Mt, Musial – Fair, Newcombe – Ex, Reese – Ex-Mt, Rizzuto Bunting – Good m/c, Rizzuto Batting – Ex-Mt m/c, Roberts – VG, Robinson – Fair, Schoendienst – VG, Snider – Ex and Williams – Fair.
