Here are a pair of duplicate contracts from longtime major leaguer Dick Bartell from his coaching days with the Tigers in 1951 and 1952. The two four-page contracts present in nearly Near-Mint fashion, calling for $14,000 salaries both seasons and featuring ballpoint pen signatures from Detroit GM Billy Evans in 1951 and from club vice president and Hall of Famer Charlie Gehringer in 1952. “Rowdy Richard” Bartell was a two-time All-Star in a distinguished major league career for five teams from 1927-46, accumulating 2,165 hits and 710 RBI to go with a .284 lifetime average.
