Presented is an intriguing three-page letter to a friend from former major-league hurler Stubby Overmire, noting the current travails of his minor-league charges, along with some personal references. The letter is on 7 ½-by-10 ½-inch stationery from the Hotel Lowry in St. Paul, Minn. Following his 10-year major-league career (58-67, 3.96 ERA), Overmire managed a number of minor-league clubs in the Midwest and South. Included with the letter is the accompanying envelope, bearing the second Overmire autograph above the Hotel Lowry return address; the postmark is St. Paul from July 29, 1956. Basic COA from BAS.
