Offered is easily the most important Rookie card in the colorful 1958 Topps Baseball issue, the No. 47 Roger Maris that pictures the slugger as a member of the Cleveland Indians. He’s still one stop away from his fateful arrival in New York, that being a brief sojourn to Kansas City, but his trade to the Bronx would yield a pair of MVP Awards, and a record-setting 1961 campaign that, well, you know the story. The rest of the story, for the moment, is this handsome Excellent-Plus example of his coveted Rookie card.
