Offered is a group of 112 cards from two of the classic Topps baseball issues of all time, the iconic 1952 set and the all-painted 1953 set, which dominates the array with 99 of the total 112 cards. The overall group is found here in a condition range fairly typical of how these important cards are typically encountered in mature collections, largely Good to Fair for the 1952s and a bit better, mostly Good to Very Good, for 1953. A total of five Hall of Famers turn up in the larger 1953 array, including Eddie Mathews, Dick Williams, Ralph Kiner, George Kell and Hoyt Wilhelm, along with literally dozens of the great stars of the period. The 1953 group comes out to roughly 56 percent Very Good and 38 percent Good, with only six percent below to Fair. Here’s the breakdown: 1952 Topps (13) – No. 2, 6 (Poor), 21, 23, 34 (mk), 38 (mk), 56 (Poor), 62, 64, 66 (mk), 70, 76 and 98; 1953 Topps (99) – No. 37 Mathews – VG-Ex, 72 Hutchinson – Good, 86 Martin – Good, 125 Williams – Good, 138 Kell – Good, 151 Wilhelm – Very Good and 191 Kiner – Fair, plus Antonelli, Black (mk), Bruton, Cerv, Conley, Crandall, Dark, Dom DiMaggio, Dropo, Garver, Gordon, Hearn, Logan, Lopat, Mitchell, Mizell, Nuxhall, Runnels, Pierce, Reynolds, Sain, Sauer, Shea, Dixie Walker and Rube Walker.
