Here are nearly five dozen cards from the exotic 1959 Fleer Life of Ted Williams issue, an array that is remarkable in its pristine consistency, largely Near-Mint to Mint or better blazers, with a few Near-Mint or Ex-Mt. These are extraordinarily clean and crisp cards, with great color and gloss and uncommonly bright card backs. The group has a bit of duplication and represents an incredible launch on a high-grade complete set of the unique 79-card classic that served as Fleer’s entry into the baseball card arena with an exclusive five-year contract with The Greatest Hitter Who Ever Lived. Here’s the breakdown, with duplication noted: No. 3, 4, 5 (2 – Near Mint), 6 – Nr-Mt, 9 - Nr-Mt, 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 19, 23 – Ex-Mt, 25, 27 (2, one is Ex-Mt), 30, 31, 32, 34, 35 (2), 36, 38 (2), 39, 40 (2), 41 – Ex-Mt-Plus, 42, 44 (2), 46 (2), 47 (2), 49, 50, 52, 53, 54, 57, 64, 66 (st), 67, 69, 70, 72, 73, 74, 75, 76 (2) 77 (2) and 79.
