Here’s a striking artifact from the legendary Henry Aaron, an Old-Timer’s Day cap worn by Aaron in 1984 as the ball club celebrated the 10th anniversary of Aaron’s historic 715th home run that eclipsed Babe Ruth’s career home run total. The cap and attendant original Wirephoto are part of a cadre of items from Aaron’s personal collection, with many gifted to his well-know and highly regarded personal assistant, Susan Bailey. A copy of a Letter of Authenticity from Bailey accompanies the lot, along with a Bailey/Aaron hologram that is affixed to the piece. The Size 7 3/8 New Era cap is in superb condition, with Aaron’s “44” appearing in black marker under the brim; the cap is photo matched to a stunning original Wirephoto from the 1984 Anniversary Celebration Game and also has the Bailey/Aaron hologram affixed.
