Here’s an amazing artifact from one of the most well-known minor-league franchises, a road baby-blue satin jersey from the Durham Bulls, a one-season fashion statement that ranks it among the gaudiest of its time. With no player linkage known, the jersey has the V-neck with the “D” Bulls logo on the left chest in white/black/gold/light blue. It has thick braid white-and-gold stripes neck-to-sleeve end nine sections (5/16th-inch); the No. 26 is on the back in white tackle twill. It has an “L” flap tag in the collar; the unusual shirt style with satin and elaborate collar striping was discontinued after 1980, deemed too heavy and uncomfortable.
