Here are two mid-decade Topps football issues looking very much like they must have when they rolled off the presses, which is to say Near-Mint to Near-Mint to Mint, with a few below and the key Hall of Famers and Rookies generally conforming to the wider condition range. In 1984 Topps the Elway and Marino Rookies are Near-Mint to Mint and Ex-Mt-Plus, respectively, with Montana Near-Mint-Plus and Payton a Very Good outlier.
