Presented is an attractive example of an important 1950s Topps baseball issue, the colorful 1958 set that is found here missing only 25 cards and boasting a nice overall condition that is a bit better than this issue is typically encountered in mature collections. This was Topps second effort in producing cards in the now-standard 2 ½-by-3 ½-inch size, and an issue thought to have been printed on a softer card stock that can make it more condition sensitive than its counterparts. One card has been third-party graded and authenticated, a PSA 6 Chicago Cubs Team card. Overall, the condition comes out to 21 percent Ex-Mt, 34 percent Excellent, 34 percent Very Good and 8 percent Good, with about a half dozen cards above to Near-Mint and a dozen below to Fair.
