Offered is an attractive example of an important mid-1960s football card issue, the 1965 Philadelphia Gum set that depicted players from the National Football League at a time when Topps had stepped back from the veteran circuit to focus for several years on the fledgling American Football League. The offered near set presents in a uniform and consistent fashion, essentially Very Good to Excellent, with some above and below the range; many of the key Hall of Famers and Rookies are among the missing, though the array does feature 18 Hall of Famers as indicated below.
