Presented is yet another cool item that links two of the giants in the baseball card collecting hobby, an empty case of Topps Baseball from 1979 that was addressed to Larry Fritsch Cards in Stevens Point, Wis., by then already perhaps the largest and most significant dealer in the country. The 10-by-17-inch – and 11 inches across – box once held six boxes of 1979 Topps Cellos (24 count, 39 cards each pack). A 7 ½-by-4-inch mailing label from Topps on one side is addressed to Fritsch; the box is in Fair condition and reveals significant wear, with one corner pulled apart and some slight corner separation on two other corners.
