Every vintage collector wants one, and why not? Not only is a time-period Babe Ruth card a status symbol that gives instant credibility to its owner but the 1933 Goudey with the red background is among the most popular and recognizable cards in our hobby. The offered card is graded PSA 4, opening the door to collectors that cannot finance many higher-grade specimens, yet presents in a very respectable fashion. The centering is perfectly acceptable, near-perfect side to side with just a mild preference for the bottom edge, while the central image featuring "The Bambino" in the forefront clean and precise, while the backdrop is more orange than the vibrant red although this doesn't appear to be because of fading; it's more of a less pigment from the printer issue. The reverse exhibits the slight bleed-through typical of Goudeys with boldly colored fronts but the green print and white canvas are particularly bright given the card's age and condition. Bridging the gap between eye-appeal and affordability, this is a wonderful specimen for any collector aiming to add a Ruth to their stable of cards.
