Offered here is an imposing uncut sheet of the iconic 1952 Bowman Baseball set, an 18 ½-by-12 ½-inch treasure featuring a total of five Hall of Famers, along with many of the other great stars of the era: Mize, Harris, Spahn, Irvin and Durocher, plus Avila, Brecheen, Cox, Dropo, Jensen, Rosen and Stanky, among others. The sheet is in outstanding condition, much better than most vintage early 1950s sheets, presenting in Excellent fashion, with four corner cards Very Good and very slight paper loss to the backs of cards of Mel Queen and Walt Dropo and minor staining to the backs of three cards. The year 1952 marked the company’s final issue in the smaller 2 1/16-by-3 1/8-inch size, moving to the oversized card the next year that had been popularized by its rival Topps with the release of its legendary 1952 issue.
