Here’s a chance to pick up a high-grade near-set of the important 1963 Fleer issue, an iconic issue featuring only players from the fledgling American Football League, the final issue by the Philadelphia-based Fleer company for more than a decade. With cards boasting uniform red borders, the set included many of the legendary figures from the early AFL years, with a total of 88 cards and an unnumbered (and short-printed) checklist. It comes out to 84 percent of the array being Excellent or better, including 10 percent Near-Mint, 49 percent Ex-Mt, 24 percent Excellent and 16 percent below, mostly to Very Good. The missing card is No. 47 Len Dawson.
