Here are 10 attractive game-worn mostly Major League Baseball caps, with several linked to important stars from several eras. That designation includes the likes of Cookie Rojas, Lee Lacy, Mike McCormick, Blue Moon Odom and perhaps Dave Cash. Here’s the breakdown: 1) 1978-85 Cleveland Indians New Era cap with block “C”, blue crown and red bill, with No. 4 marked inside, with possible linkage to Coach Dave Duncan (1978-81), John Goryl (1982-84) or Tony Bernazard (1985); 2) 1968-70 John Odom Oakland A’s all-green cap with white “A” and No. 13 marked on the underbill. The Tim McAuliffe KM 7 1/8 cap reveals solid wear and some significant fading; 3) 1970s Cookie Rojas Kansas City Royals cap, all royal blue, with green underbill, cloth headband and Wilson label, with Rojas’ No. 1 in marker and autographed by him. Size 7 1/8 is also written in marker on an inner panel; 4) Late 1970s Lee Lacy Los Angeles Dodgers cap, royal blue with white beanie, with interlocking “LA” on the front, with green underbill. New Era cap has “Lacy” written in marker; 5) Early 1970s Pittsburgh Pirates mustard and black cap, with black “P” and black beanie, cloth band and size 7 3/8 marked in New Era cap. Identifier is difficult to read, suggesting possible linkage to David Cash, Bob Miller, Tom Dettor or Jim Sadowski; 6) Early 1980s Leo Hernandez Baltimore Orioles cap, with orange bill, white front top panel and orange beanie. AJD cap has the Smiley Bird logo, with white cloth band and green underbill, with Hernandez’ No. 3 marked and underlined; 7) 1980s Seattle Mariners blue New Era cap, with original “M” logo, tan leather headband and “Fitz” marked boldly on the green underbill, leaving identification up in the air, suggesting perhaps a camp player; 8) Late 1960s Mike McCormick San Francisco Giants cap, a black cap with orange beanie, green underbill and leather headband. The McAuliffe cap has KM stamping and Size 7 ½, with McCormick’s No. 40 marked on the underbill; 9) 1956-57 Atlanta Crackers Southern Association navy cap with red bill and red beanie, along with white “A.” The Coane, Phila., Pa., label appears on the interior; and 10) Naval Academy coach’s or player’s cap, navy blue, with yellow “N,” green underbill and white cloth headband. New Era Pro Model 7-Plus cap has no name indicated on the underbill.
