Presented is an intriguing half-dozen figures dating from the 1960s to the 1990s, headlined by Henry Aaron and Nolan Ryan pieces, Bobbin Heads from the Rockies and Marlins and a handsome pair of the 1960s Bobbin Head Miniatures of the Cardinals and Mets. We'll start with the 1975 Henry Aaron Bobble Head Doll and the 1990 Nolan Ryan Hartland Statue that was part of the fabled company’s modern incarnation following the release of its Anniversary Statues in 1989. The Aaron Bobble Head was produced by the Milwaukee Brewers to commemorate the return of the Hall of Famer to Milwaukee as a member of the Brewers at the finish of his legendary National League career with the Braves from 1954-74. The seven-inch figure is in its original packaging and is in the expected pristine condition, with blazing, crisp colors and unmolested decals from the “M” on his cap, “Brewers” across the front of the jersey and right down to the striking Aaron facsimile autograph at the front of the vivid green base. The eight-inch high, three-inch square box is largely in similar condition, jostled only by a significant tear across much of the top flap. It’s a spectacular example of a charming artifact that was sold in Brewers’ souvenir shops at the time, a nice tribute to a beloved figure on the occasion of his triumphant return to the Midwest. The 1990 Nolan Ryan Limited-Edition Hartland Statue is an 8 ½-inch plastic figure that links the Hall of Famer righthander with the coveted vintage Hartland Statues from three decades earlier. The figure is essentially as-issued, Near-Mint or better condition, with excellent color and an attractive painting scheme; the original box is Very Good, with some minor dings and one major crease that runs lengthwise near one edge. 1990s Florida Marlins, Colorado Rockies Bobbin Head Dolls (2) - This is a superlative pair of the 1990s Bobbin Head Porcelain Dolls from the 1990s Green Base Series, featuring the Florida Marlins and the Colorado Rockies in eight-inch round base figures that present in Near-Mint fashion, boasting exceptional color and superb gloss, with almost none of the paint chipping that is so common with the issue, save only for a couple of tiny specks at the back of the neck; additionally, there is some chipping of the figure at the underside of the face, damage visible only upon careful inspection searching the underside of the head. 1961-63 Cardinals and Mets Miniature Bobbin Head Dolls (2) - Presented are a pair of Miniature Bobbin Heads from the 1961-63 White Base Series, one of the more difficult subsets of myriad Bobbin Head issues of the period. The four-inch, round-base figures present broadly near VG-Ex condition, though the technical designation might be a tad lower. On the Redbird figure, there is some light chipping around the white base, with some loss to the “St. Louis” decal at the base and the “StL” lettering on the cap; the “Cardinals” decal is missing from the front of the shirt, with remnants still visible. The Mets figure would be described as closer to Fair condition, with visible chipping at several spots on the figure, most notably on the white base and several spots on the jersey, plus significant chips from the elbow, ear and the cap. There is also some light cracking and paint loss around the bottom of the face and the “New York” decal at the base is mostly gone, with remnants remaining visible.
