Presented is a striking trio of vintage bobbin heads of the Cincinnati Reds, San Francisco Giants and Dodgers. The Reds doll is from the 1962 Green Base Series and is in Fair condition, laying claim to excellent color and gloss. The painting is outstanding, with detailed crisp lines on the old-style Reds cap, the baseball stitching and right down to the subtle blush on his cheeks. The Green Base specimen has some paint chipping, most notably to the right sleeve, and some significant chipping and damage to the underside of the chin. The San Francisco Giants Bobbin Head is from the 1961-63 White Base Series, a figure approaching Near-Mint status, with superb color and gloss and an attractive paint job, with almost none of the dreaded chipping that is part and parcel of so many of these vintage treasures. The Dodgers figure is the coveted Sandy Koufax Bobbin Head from the 1967-72 Gold Base Series, a Near-Mint specimen featuring the Hall of Famer that boasts exceptional colors and gloss. The six-inch, round-base figure features an outstanding paint job, with only a modest amount of the dreaded chipping, with virtually all of this to the gold base. There is some loss to the “LA” decal on the cap that is visible only with the most diligent effort; the same observation pertains to the tiniest of nicks to the delicate “Dodgers” and Koufax’ No. 32 decal at the front of the shirt. This is a clearly outstanding offering of one of the most popular mid-1960s Bobbin Heads that is linked to arguably the greatest pitcher of the era.
