This is a nifty bit of nostalgia from one of the great Cleveland Indians squads in team history, winners of 111 games, a then-American League record. The 24-by-17 ½-inch square banner is on green felt, with white screened-on lettering. A color depiction of the Indians’ Chief logo is at the center of the banner, which features a baseball diamond with the starting nine players listed at their positions around the diamond, all beneath a title noting “American League Champs.” Nine bench players are listed on both sides of the diamond; six Hall of Famers are included in the mix – Manager Al Lopez, Bob Lemon, Bob Feller, Early Wynn, Hal Newhouser and Larry Doby. The banner is in Excellent-Plus condition, with a thin white felt strip at the top a bit less due to some minor pinholes and miniscule staining.
