Like an adjacent lot of unopened non-sport issues, this prodigious proliferation of non-sport sets and singles presents a remarkable opportunity to pick up many thousands of cards from some of the popular non-sport card issues from primarily the 1990s and beyond, sets that touch on a host of pop culture mileposts from popular movies, card games and television shows to legendary comic figures, Magic and Marvel and massive military campaigns. This would also represent a bonanza for Type cards collectors, with literally hundreds of issues presented in one fashion or another. Buckle up, there’s a lot to examine here, but it’s doubtless worth the effort. In the array listed below, the zillions of cards are typically pristine (Near-Mint to Near-Mint to Mint) and are listed as precisely as the situation permits. Here’s the breakdown of what will be one of the heaviest lots we've ever offered and a challenging undertaking for the postman (card numbers are estimates for obvious reasons): 1) 3,200-Count box of DC Comics, Ninjas, Indiana Jones, Bone and a half dozen or so assorted unopened packs; 2) 2,000-Count box of Magic, KiSS, Tron and Topps Political Heroes; 3) 2,000-Count box with many sets in plastic cases (many with 66 to 90 cards), including Desert Storm, Corvettes, Angel, Lord of the Rings, Poison Elvis, Silver Surfer, Batman Master Series, Purgist Skullurk, Hawkman, Lady Death and Superman Platinum (200); 4) 800-Count box with DC Comics and some wrappers; 5) 800-Count box with DC Comics; 6) 800-Count box of Marvel Super Heroes; 7) 800-Count box with Desert Storm (400) and Garbage Pail Kids (200, many below Near-Mint); 8) 800-Count box of mostly Magic (500) and Yu-Gi-Oh; 9) 800-Count box of Magic; 10) 400-Count box of SkyBox and Super Heroes, Comics; 11) 100-Count box of Superman Platinum Series; and 12) 100-Count box of Magic.
