Here is one of the key cards from one of the truly elegant turn-of-century tobacco issues, the alarming condition-sensitive T205 Gold Borders with gold-leaf, full-bleed card fronts that so readily reveal even the slightest nicks to the gold accents. The Mathewson is not surprisingly one of the most important cards in the issue, found here in a PSA 1.5 holder, with some of the anticipated chipping to the front and a solid card back, with light staining and dirt and crisp blue printing on the Piedmont back.
