This is the 14K Gold companion piece to the famed New York Giants Season Pass Pendant Series, an artifact of magnified proportions since it was given to legendary New York City Mayor John F. Hyland, who held the position from 1918 to 1925. In the same design format as the elegant sterling-silver season pass pendants, the 1 3/8-inch “Open Gate” design has “Giants 1924” on the top portion of the gate on the front and “Chas A. Stoneham Pres.” on the bottom portion. The back is in matching Near-Mint condition as the front, is engraved with the serial No. 3 at the top; “Mayor John F. Hylan & Party 1923” is engraved at the center and “Lambert 14K” at the bottom. The piece is another important artifact that is amplified by the low serial number and its ownership by a legendary NYC Mayor from the middle of the Roaring Twenties, along with being the fourth consecutive year that the Giants had reached the World Series. The only other “set” of the 14K Gold pendants known was issued to Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis, further signaling the extraordinary pedigree of these pendants.
