Presented is a simply stunning game-worn “Turn Back the Clock” Detroit Tigers home pinstripe jersey that is photomatched and authenticated by Major League Baseball (LH043886) attesting to usage by legendary righthander Justin Verlander. The attractive throwback-style jersey has the unique 2 ½-inch to 3-inch navy collar and button path, with six-button front, navy pinstripes and a 4-inch tail extension added to the jersey. The alphanumeric identifiers are white and red polytwill, with 4-inch red star on the front. The jersey back is cut from the collar down through the right side of Verlander’s No. 5 all the way down to the back tail. The distinctive AIS Size 48 labeling appears at the tail. The circumstances surrounding tail alterations and a tear that runs down the entire length of the jersey are unknown. The MLB hologram certifies usage in a July 26, 2008 game against the White Sox, an un-Verlander-like outing yielding nine hits and seven runs in a four-inning stint, ending up on the losing end of a 7-6 score. Even with that blip, the shirt is a handsome gamer of unique style from perhaps the greatest pitcher of his generation, with a 2011 MVP Award and two Cy Young Awards to go with eight All-Star nods and a sparkling 257-141 lifetime mark. The jersey arrives with a full LOA and photomatching from Sports Investors.
