It’s the most famous and expensive 1952 Topps Baseball card that isn't linked to the fabled high series and it’s arguably the nicest Willie Mays card of all his 20-plus classics from Topps over the years: try all that and add an early 1950s Mays autograph and you can see what we're so worked up about. Neatly entombed in a BAS Authentic holder, the card showcases a unique vertical Mays autograph in ballpoint, with each letter clearly legible as opposed to his later versions that sometimes demand some deciphering. The card boasts near-perfect centering left to right and perhaps 75/25 bottom to top, along with surprisingly modest corner wear and only light scuffing to the background. As suggested, it’s a wonderful presentation of one of the key cards in the set, an autographed example of one of the most beloved figures in MLB history. Only 36 of these exist on PSA's population report.
