Presented is a really cool group of Bobbin Heads from the Color Base Series which ran from 1960-62 and was the first series of the genre, with four attractive examples here plus an MIB Brewers figure of the legendary Henry Aaron produced in 1975 with the Hall of Famer’s return to his beloved Milwaukee at the end of his career. In this sterling group, the lineup includes the Mets, Red Sox, Twins and Phillies, figures that are pretty uniformly Ex-Mt to Near-Mint with some exceptions noted, with outstanding paint and gloss, yielding bold, vivid colors and an attractive, consistent presentation. Here’s the breakdown (8): 1) 1975 Milwaukee Brewers Henry Aaron – Mint-in-Box (MIB) 7 ½-inch Bobbin Head, with cellophane intact in box that presents Ex-Mt-Plus with some minor nicks to the back; 2) Red Sox Green Base – superb Near-Mint figure with bold, vivid colors and gloss, plus Good Box; 3) Mets Green Base – tiny nicks to underside of chin and cheek, plus damage to the bottom of the base that is unseen; 4) Twins Color Base – crack under the chin and box flap detached; and 5) Phillies Green Base – Near-Mint with wonderful paint job and gloss, Box is Poor.
