Here are three uncut sheets from a truly difficult and unique Topps NBA peripheral, the quirky tri-card Sticker Inserts from 1971, an undertaking that gave the Topps guys a head start on designing cards with the Three-on-One format and also devising a truly confusing numbering system, both concepts that would come in handy a decade later. These three proof sheets yield a total of 33 cards, which in turn constitutes a complete 1-45 Sticker set, a second 1a-21a Sticker set and 11 of the Team Logo Stickers. Two of the sheets are 14-by-10 3/8 inches and the third is 14-by-7 ½ inches; all three are essentially VG-Ex from modest corner wear, none of which apparently reaches the Sticker image area. Given the modest size of the issue, having almost three dozen Hall of Famers on board adds to the allure, a lineup that includes the likes of Lew Alcindor, Wilt Chamberlain, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, Pete Maravich, John Havlicek, Elvin Hayes, Willis Reed, Rick Barry, Walt Frazier, Dave Bing, Dave Cowens and Wes Unseld, to name a few.
