This Russell Athletic size 50 Twins home jersey was used by Kirby Puckett during the last half of his final season in 1995. Puckett signed the jersey and gave it to Rod Carew, adding a lengthy inscription reading, “To Rod, Thanks for being a good friend. I love you!! You’re the Best. Your buddy, Kirby Puckett #34.” Carew then signed his name under Puckett’s inscription and gave it to our consignor. The jersey shows nice use, with various stains throughout the front, some puckering and pilling around the numbers from repeated washings. There is a tag sewn into the neck with the numbers “34” and “95” stamped on it, corresponding to Puckett’s jersey number 34 and the year 1995. The button-up front features the scripted “Twins” on the front with blue trim, along with Puckett’s number “34”. The number “34” is sewn on the back with numbers in red and blue trim. Puckett’s 12-year career ended in 1995, when he batted .314 with 23 home runs and 99 RBI and would be inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2001 on the first ballot.
