Here’s one you don’t see every day: an enormous Dry Cleaning Bag from the mid-1950s glory years of the Milwaukee Braves from one of their most prominent regional sponsors, Spic and Span. This was, as the bag suggests, a Milwaukee area dry cleaning company rather than the national cleaning products conglomerate. The bag is a massive 36-by-23 inches, with verbiage in blue and red spot color pronouncing that Spic and Span is “The Choice of Your Favorite Braves,” and then provides a dozen attractive portraits in blue of those very same Braves, along with facsimile signatures. Your Favorite Braves Lineup: Nichols, Logan, Dittmer, Burdette, Adcock, Crandall, O’Connell, Spahn, Thomson, Pafko, Buhl and Bruton. The bag has some wear at the top where the hangar would be inserted and light wear at the bottom edges. The bag presents nicely, with minor creasing or wrinkles and barest toning at the folds and major toning at the bottom 1/8th quadrant. In addition to the bag, the lot includes a 10 ½-by-15-inch placemat, with the Braves’ 1957 Home Schedule and graphic of County Stadium in blue, red and green spot color. There is some light wear to the edges, along with the barest toning.
