Many consider Mays ’52 Topps rookie card the most underappreciated card in the set. While still popular and often pricey, Mays is overshadowed by the legendary Mickey Mantle rookie card and by Eddie Mathews' rookie card, which happened to be the final card in the set, making it extremely difficult to find in higher grade. Ironically, Mays was characterized without his trademark boyish smile which made him a favorite among fans and the media. This one falls a shade under VG and arrives in a PSA 2.5 holder.
