This is a simply stunning example of one of the most popular non-Topps baseball issues of the 1960s, the colorful 1960 Fleer Baseball Greats set that featured mostly Hall of Famers and great stars from the game’s first six decades. In a set with color coded subsets of 20 cards of blue, yellow, green and red (19), this particular array boasts uncommonly vivid and crisp background colors, decent centering and blazing white borders. With 37 of the 79 cards in PSA 8 slabs and the remaining 42 raw cards in matching Near-Mint to Mint or better condition, this is easily the nicest example of this set we’ve ever handled. Thus the PSA 8 contingent includes the likes of Ruth, Alexander, Johnson, Collins, Medwick, Feller, Ott, Anson, Bottomley, Young, Terry, Foxx, Rickey, Gehringer, Wagner, and Ted Williams, among others; again, there is no discernible different between the three dozen-plus PSA 8 slabs and the remaining 42 raw cards.
