In what was arguably the most popular nonmainstream baseball issue of the era, Post Cereal offered the youth of America a complete set of 200 cards of their favorite baseball players, each individual 2 1/2-by-3 1/2-inch card precariously printed on the back of the company’s vast armada of breakfast cereals. Typically found with varying degrees of deplorable craftsmanship with the clumsy family scissors, the individual cards can thus be highly treasured when found in uncut form like this, with six cards presented on each box back stacked three high on each side, along with a bit of company cheerleading about how to collect the complete set. This lot boasts four complete box backs totaling 24 different cards, with each of the backs having the same kind of rugged scissors work, but all six of the cards are intact and are not infringed by the cut. Here’s the lineup: 2, 27, 34, 39 Bunning, 41, 45, 51, 64, 66, 76, 80 Wilhelm, 86 Williams, 112, 122, 132 Clemente, 136, 138, 154, 165, 169, 174, 189, 195, 197.
