Presented is an attractive, mid-grade complete set of the groundbreaking 1969 Topps Basketball issue, the company’s first hoops effort after more than a decade and a unique, oversized treasure that by virtue of its timing boasts an incredible number of Rookie cards, including some of the most important of the era. At 4 11/16-by-2 ½ inches, the famed “Tall Boys” provided a stunning presentation, with ornate white background and pink spot color backs that so elegantly showcased the players’ narratives and statistics. The offered set is mostly Very Good to Ex-Mt (84 percent), yielding a handsome presentation of an important basketball issue. The key Alcindor Rookie returned from PSA with a N6 Minimum Size assessment; the Wilt Chamberlain is in a PSA 3 holder. The set comes out at 8 percent Near-Mint, 37 percent Ex-Mt, 31 percent Excellent and 18 percent Very Good, with a handful above to Near-Mint and a similar number below, mostly to Good.
