This is a striking early 1970s Philadelphia Phillies road grey flannel worn by journeyman outfielder and pinch-hitter Ron Stone. The medium to lightweight shirt has the seven-button front and proudly boasts the elegant “P” logo on the front chest, his No. 21 front and back all done in the beautiful maroon chenille stitching on a white tackle twill base. A similarly imposing ¾-inch maroon braid runs from the collar to the sleeves and underarm to the tail. The name in collar (NIC) is black chain-link stitching on gray flannel swatch; the “Stone” portion is slightly defaced. A well-worn Wilson Size 44 tail label has a black chain-link stitched “44 -1971 Set 2.” The shirt shows solid and consistent wear throughout.
