Presented is a tremendous artifact from legendary Hall of Famer Eddie Mathews, a game-worn manager’s road jersey from the 1973 season when his fellow HOFer and teammate Henry Aaron was closing in on Babe Ruth’s all-time home run mark. The Sand Knit blue pullover cheesecloth jersey has the futuristic feather sleeve motif and “Braves” in script and uniquely fonted numerals in two-color white-on-red tackle twill with embroidered edging. Mathews famed No. 41 appears on the back and Mathews has signed on the right shoulder in black Sharpie. The jersey has Sand Knit Size 44 square label at the collar and felt swatch “4 4 – 73” in red chain-link stitching; Sand Knit exclusivity label appears at the tail. The iconic shirt shows solid wear identifier puckering and soft surface wear. Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from Grey Flannel.
