Presented is a truly important jersey from the inaugural season of the Seattle Mariners, an altered but very rare road knit shirt, game-worn but without clearcut attribution to a particular player. The light-blue pullover knit has blue/white/yellow braid V-neck trim, the same format for the ribbed-knit sleeve ends. “Seattle” front has been replaced by “Mariners” in royal-on-white tackle twill and the No. 48 on back unclear between Nos. 43 or 46, with the original NOB removed. There are outline remnants of the Goodman’s (Los Angeles) label on the outer-front tail, with label edges and light-blue thread remnants intact on the underside, along with “1977 Bobby Floyd” in marker. The shirt, even with the alterations, is in acceptable condition, with some jersey body fading and numeral surface fading. Possible player linkages include Enrique Romo, Rick Jones or Jim Colborn.
