Here's a rare chance to own The Holy Grail of hockey wax boxes... a 1979 Topps Hockey wax box, with 36 virgin packs inside and an amazing chance at a high-grade Wayne Gretzky RC. This is the modern equivalent of a 1986 Fleer Basketball box with Michael Jordan's RC, but, at least for now, at a far lower price despite having lower production numbers. Any hockey collector would certainly agree that if they could own any year of hockey wax boxes from the past 50 years, it would be from 1979-80, with Topps and O-Pee-Chee both falling into the Holy Grail category. The values of Gretzky's RC continue to rise and this box offers a great chance to find one in Mint or Gem Mint condition if it's busted. This rare hockey box is authenticated and wrapped by Steve Hart of Baseball Card Exchange, who noted that it originates from Larry Fritsch Cards.
