This nearly complete set of 1979 Topps Baseball arrives with every card in the set signed, with 717 of 726 cards in the set, including signed Checklist cards. The set includes 51 HOFers signatures and 68 deceased players, with the All-Time Record Holders strategically signed, including: Hits (signed by Rose), RBI (signed by Aaron), Batting Average (signed by Rose), Stolen Bases (signed by Brock), Wins (signed by Newcombe) and ERA (signed on the back by Whitey Ford). This includes single-player cards and multi-player cards, which in almost all cases are signed by every player appearing on the card. Many stars and HOFers have multiple signatures in the set since League Leaders, Record Breakers, Rookies and All-Time Leaders subsets are also signed by each player possible, with the exception of No. 712, which arrives with two cards, one signed by Byron McLaughlin and the other signed by Anderson and Biercevicz. Other highlights include: A’s Team card featuring a rookie era Rickey Henderson signature; Roger Maris & Hank Aaron HR Record signed by both; Cardinals Team signed by Ken Boyer (PSA/DNA slabbed), Ozzie Smith RC, Mike Marshall, Bobby Thompson (the only one we’ve ever seen), Rich Chiles, Glenn Burke, Hank Aaron, Robin Yount, Willie Stargell, Dennis Eckersley, Joe Morgan, Steve Carlton, Paul Molitor, Tom Lasorda, Gary Carter, Tony Perez, Jim Rice, Rollie Fingers, Andre Dawson, Tug McGraw, Tony Solaita (d. 1990), Jim Palmer, George Brett, Gaylord Perry, Rod Carew, Sparky Anderson, Rich Gossage, Willie McCovey, Carlos Mora (tough), Andres Mora (tough), Earl Weaver, Carlton Fisk, Jim Hunter, Lou Brock, Pete Rose, Eddie Murray, Mike Schmidt, Mark Fidrych, Fergie Jenkins and more. All signatures are pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Only Thurman Munson and Charlie Williams are missing from the set, while the following singles did not pass authentication: 6 Ryan/Richard; 200 Bench, 370 Kingman, 417 Nolan Ryan, 605 Monday, 648 Piniella and 700 Jackson.
