This 36" H&B Ernie Banks Game-Used bat dates to the 1969-72 labeling period. The S2 model weighs 34.7 ounces and exhibits evidence of heavy use with a handle crack. Many ball marks and stitch impressions are visible on the left and back barrel. In addition, there are green bat rack streaks visible and a light coat of pine tar on the handle. Banks' number "14" is written on the knob as well as the length and weight "Yosh Marks" referring to Yosh Kawano, a long time Cubs clubhouse manager, in which the appearance of these marks on 1960s and 1970s bats establishes a high degree of confidence as to the bat's game use by the player. This nearly perfect example of a Banks gamer is graded by John Taube of PSA/DNA who graded the bat GU 9.
