This typed letter is signed by George H.W. Bush and is dated July 20, 1980. It reads in part, "Given my new role, I must respectfully decline the August 18th even at Muirfield" and is addressed to Cy Laughter, who organized celebrity golf tournaments. Bush's "new role" was being named the VP to Ronald Reagan's presidential candidacy. The blue felt tip pen signature is authenticated by PSA/DNA and graded a perfect "10."
