In the second Topps issue of the decade, the company rolled out a border concept that would bedevil serious collectors for decades to come. With a solid black border, Topps had created an issue that would arguably become the most condition-sensitive ever, with even the smallest bit of corner wear often showing the dreaded chipping. The set offered here presents in a really strong, consistent fashion, with strong, vivid colors, bold black borders and really nice gloss, an often underappreciated element in evaluating vintage sets. This set is largely Excellent to Ex-Mt, with some above but a larger number below, with minimal chipping to the delicate black borders and centering fairly typical for the issue.
