A strong advocate of amateur basketball, Lynn St. John lobbied for formal national and international basketball rules for nearly three decades. A formidable administrator and a "master of diplomacy." St. John was appointed to the NCAA Basketball Rules Committee in 1912, a position he held for 25 years, the last eighteen as chairman. He served as a member of the 1936 Basketball Olympic Committee, and played an active role during the inaugural Olympic competition. The basketball arena at Ohio State University, where St. John coached (1912-1919) and later served as director of athletics (1915-47), is named in his honor. He died in 1950 and was elected to the Basketball HOF in 1962. We offer a contract from 1914 between the University of Wooster to play Ohio State in baseball in 1914. Signed by St. John and L.C. Knight of Wooster Super rare! So rare that PSA/DNA rendered an opinion of inconclusive on this due to lack of exemplars.
