This 15x19 framed display includes a Dec. 23, 1974 Sports Illustrated cover featuring Muhammad Ali, with a signed training camp check mounted below. The check is dated Dec. 8, 1973 from "Muhammad Ali Training Camp" and payable to Ralph Thornton for $100, with an oversized black ink signature from Ali at the bottom. The check's December of 1973 date indicates it was during training camp for his second fight with Joe Frazier, which took place Jan. 28, 1974 with Ali atoning for his loss three year's earlier. Thornton was in Ali's camp and is mentioned quite a few times in the book "Muhammad Ali: His Life and Times." Rare Ali training camp check dating to Ali avenging the first loss of his professional career.
