For fans of this popular 1970’s basketball issue, this represents an opportunity that would be difficult to replicate: a pristine, essentially uncirculated grouping of cards from the 1973-74 offering that includes nearly two dozen Hall of Famers, many stars and specials in an essentially unimprovable condition of Nr-Mt to Mt. At 375 cards there’s obviously considerable duplication, which can be pretty cool when you’re talking about someone like 2015 Hall of Fame inductee Louie Dampier, who appears here in nine specimens each virtually indistinguishable from the previous one. Cards reveal that coveted “vending bend,” which bespeaks of untouched treasure, with razor-sharp corners, nice color and gloss and excellent centering. Mix in a lineup that includes the likes of Rick Barry, Dave Bing, Connie Hawkins, Earl Monroe, Wes Unseld, Jo Jo White, Lenny Wilkens and Roger Brown (4), and you’re talking about a chance not to be missed. There are also six All-Star card, 13 Playoff specials, 17 League Leaders and a Checklist card, all in a pristine condition that seemingly defies the idea of four decades having elapsed.
