This is an intriguing array of some of the many oversized paper Topps poster inserts from the 1960’s and 1970’s, a marketing effort that may have proved successful at the time but bedeviled serious collectors for decades to come because of the delicate condition issues stemming from lighter paper stock and the requirement of folding to fit within packs. This group fares pretty well in the condition department and includes almost two dozen Hall of Famers from the various sports. Here’s the breakdown: 1967 Topps Baseball Pinups, No. 20 McLain – Fair; 1968 Topps Posters, No. 17 Swoboda – Fair; 1972 Topps Posters, Billy Williams (Good), Lolich (Ex), Clemente (Fair) and Jenkins (Fair); 1970 Topps Posters, No. 1 Horlen (Very Good) and No. 3 Davis (Good); 1968 Topps Football Posters, mostly Good to Very Good, including No. 1 Unitas, 2 Kelly, 3 Hayes, 6 Tarkenton, 15 Dawson and No. 16; 1970 Topps Football Posters, Mostly Ex-Mt, No. 3 Gabriel, 6 Eller, 11 Butkus and 14 Wilson, and No. 15 Hickerson (Fair); 1970-71 Topps Posters of No. 15 West and No. 17 Chamberlain, both Ex-Mt; 1980-81 Topps Basketball Team Posters, with a complete set (16) that is basically Ex-Mt and seven extras, mostly Very Good to Ex-Mt, including Bulls (3), Pacers (2), Rockets and Suns.
