This is an impressive array of cards from the final years of Bowman’s run in the football card business and Topps’ inaugural issue featuring NFL players, all in the oversized format that would be abandoned by Topps in 1957 in favor of the now-standard 2 ½-by-3 ½-inch size. Also included in the grouping are two cards from the 1961 Nu-Card Football series that featured collegiate players, with two of the most important keys presented: No. 143 Ernie Davis and No. 117 John Hadl, both in Ex-Mt condition. In the Topps and Bowman grouping there are about a dozen Hall of Famers, and stars and specials, detailed in the description below.
