This is an enormous, old-time auction lot, with many disparate elements from 1960’s and 1970’s mostly Topps football, but also with pristine Kellogg’s cards, Fleer Action cards, Wonder Bread issues and more. It’s a lot that begs for close examination because of the wide range of diverse components, with genuine treasures lurking for those who expend a bit of effort. We’ll organize it chronologically, starting with a 1961 Fleer Jim Brown card, No. 11, in Fair condition because of tape residue.
The breakdown: 1969 Topps Four-in-One Mini Stamps (45), mostly Ex-Mt, with some above and below the range and some duplication, including No. 1 Sayers (2), Alworth, Taylor, Tarkenton, Griese, Jurgensen, Starr, Mackey, Meredith, Hayes, Dawson (2) and Unitas; 1969 Topps Four-in-One Mini Stamps Albums (40) mostly Very Good to Excellent, with 11 albums with no stamps affixed inside and another 29 either partially or fully completed with stamps affixed; 1970 Topps Posters (14), 8-by-10-inch, mostly Excellent to Mint, including Eller, Mackey, Robinson, Butkus, Barney, Lee, Alworth, Olsen, Trumpy, Lilly, Tinglehoff, Warfield and Brown; 1970 Topps Glossy Inserts (10), mostly Excellent to Mint to Near-Mint, including No. 7 Hayes (Fair), 9 Kelly (Nr-Mt), 11, 17, 19, 20 Jurgensen (Very Good), 21, 29 Namath (Ex-Mt), 30 and 31; 1970 Kellogg’s (70), mostly Near-Mint with very little cracking and only four deemed “Fair,” including Simpson, Sayers, Unitas (Ex), Griese, Butkus (2, one is Fair), Maynard (2), Lilly, Jurgensen, Biletnikoff, Smith, Bell, Csonka, Alworth, Hayes, Jones, Barney, Farr, Olsen, Mackey, Kelly, Renfro, Warfield, Stenerud, Wilson, Karras, Dawson, Eller and Otto; 1971 Kellogg’s (17), mostly Excellent to Excellent to Mint, with a few with cracking, and including two Unitas (Ex-Mt and Very Good); 1971 Topps Posters Complete Set (32), 5-by-7-inch, mostly Excellent to Mint, with stars mostly fitting with the broader condition range, excepting No. 30 Nobis (Poor); 1971 Topps Game Inserts Near Set (51/52), with three down markers – missing No. 29 Griese, group mostly Ex-Mt to Nr-Mt, with No. 1 Butkus – VG, 25 Tarkenton m/c, 50 Starr – Fair and 51 Jurgensen – Fair; 1973 Topps Team Checklists Near Set (25/26), with 14 about Excellent, four Very Good (Jets, Giants, Chiefs, Browns), two Good (Rams and Redskins) and five Poor (marked, Chargers, Dolphins, Oilers, Lions and Falcons); 1974 Topps Team Checklists Partial Set (16/26), with 10 Excellent (Bills, Redskins, Rams, Bengals, Steelers, Chargers, Saints, Vikings, Cowboys and Jets), one Very Good (Falcons), one Good (Bears), two Fair (Dolphins and Chiefs) and two Poor (Oilers and Patriots); 1974 Wonder Bread Complete Set (30), Excellent to Mint to Near-Mint; 1975 Wonder Bread Complete Set (24), mostly Excellent to Ex-Mt, with a half dozen or so Very Good; 1976 Wonder Bread Complete Set (24), Excellent to Mint to Near-Mint; 1977 Fleer Action partial set (31/67), mostly Excellent to Ex-Mt; 1978 Fleer Action Near Set (61/68), Ex-Mt to Nr-Mt; 1979 Fleer Action Complete Set (69), mostly Near-Mint; and 1980 Fleer Action Complete Set (70), Near-Mint to Near-Mint to Mint.
The final element of the diverse lot is about (100) additional miscellaneous cards with a wide condition range and a roster that includes some 1960’s Fleer cards and Packers and Vikings team sets.
