This is a really nice virtually complete set of the popular Albertype HOF Plaque Postcards Type 2, the precursor to the well-known Yellow HOF Plaque Postcard series that has proved to be a popular collectible for several generations of autograph hounds and visitors to the gift shop in Cooperstown. The Albertype Black-and-White Plaque Postcards – 3 ½ –by-5 ½ inches – are found here in a highly consistent and collectible grade, basically Ex-Mt, with a handful above (noted) and about a half dozen below (also indicated). The only missing card is the final one, the Knickerbocker Nine 1864. Here’s the breakdown: Near-Mint (3): Bresnahan, Brown and Lajoie; Ex-Mt (53): Brouthers, Burkett, Cartwright, Chadwick, Chance, Chesbro, Clarke, Cochrane, Collins, Collins, Comiskey, Cummings, Delahanty, Foxx, Frisch, Hornsby, Hubbell, Jennings, Keeler, Kelly, Landis, Mathewson, Ott, Plank, Radbourne and Robinson; Excellent (6): Cobb, Gehrig, Johnson, Ruth, Wagner and Young.
