Presented here is a remarkable grouping of vintage pocket watches, medallions and pins featuring some of the biggest names in baseball history, from Babe Ruth and Stan Musial to Mickey Mantle and Ted Williams. We’ll start with an intriguing group of three pocket watches, essentially in Near-Mint condition, with iconic images of Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams and Mickey Mantle on the face and seemingly in working order. A 1 ¾-inch Ted Williams pin also inspires, with red, white and blue 4-inch accompanying ribbon and the ball and bat gold-plated pieces included. The pin is largely Excellent in presentation, with some rust visible on the reverse. An Ex-Mt Ted Williams medallion, seemingly brass, has Williams’ name engraved on the reverse of an eight-edged design, and comes with a 26-inch red, white and blue ribbon for the neck. A Mickey Mantle medallion from the New England Mint (Ex-Mt) has “1 Troy Ounce, .999 Fine Silver” engraved around the edge of the reverse, the same wording that is featured on the back of a Joe DiMaggio “Hall of Famer” medallion, the latter probably Very Good, with a bit of tarnish visible. A Babe Ruth 1 ½-inch coin has “1967 Take Me Out to the Ballgame” engraved, along with the intriguing notation “Krewe of Endymion (with a seal shown), and New Orleans Mardi Gras” on the reverse (Excellent). The final piece is a Stan Musial coin with his image and stats engraved on the front and an image of Busch Stadium with “Immortals 1909-66” on the reverse (Excellent).
